We can use the following commands to determine the Anaconda version on the Anaconda prompt.

  • conda --version
  • conda -V

Similarly, we use the following commands to check the Python version on the Anaconda prompt.

  • python --version
  • python -V

We can also use the following commands to determine both the Anaconda and Python version on the Anaconda prompt.

  • Use the conda list anaconda$ command.
  • Use the conda list command.
  • Use the conda info command.

Use the conda -V Command to Check Anaconda Version

On the Anaconda prompt, issue the conda --V command to check the Anaconda version.

Here’s an example.

conda -V

Output:

conda 4.10.1

Use the conda --version Command to Check Anaconda Version

On the Anaconda prompt, issue the conda --version command to check the Anaconda version.

Here’s an example.

conda --version

Output:

Use the python -V Command to Check Python Version

On the Anaconda prompt, issue the python -V command to check the Python version.

Here’s an example.

python -V

Output:

Use the python --version Command to Check Python Version

On the Anaconda prompt, issue the python --version command to check the Python version.

python --version

Output:

Use the conda list anaconda$ Command to Check Anaconda Version

On the Anaconda prompt, issue the conda list anaconda$ command to check the Anaconda version.

Here’s an example.

conda list anaconda$

Output:

Use the conda list Command to Check Both the Anaconda and Python Version

On the Anaconda prompt, issue the conda list command to check the Anaconda and Python version. Here’s an example.

conda list

It displays all the packages installed in the current environment, amongst which the Anaconda and the Python version is also listed. It also mentions the Name, Version, Build, Channel details of the packages.

#
# Name                    Version                   Build  Channel
 ....

Use the conda info Command to Check Anaconda and Python Version

On the Anaconda prompt, issue the conda info command to check the Anaconda and Python version. Here’s an example.

conda info

Output:

It displays all the current environment details amongst which the Python and Anaconda version is displayed.

active environment : base
         ....
         conda version : 4.10.1
         python version : 3.8.8.final.0
         ....
